Southland Sheltie Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit public benefit corporation. Our mission is to rescue, promote and protect the health and welfare of Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) in the Southern California area. Originated by the Tri Valley Shetland Sheepdog Club, SSRI is comprised of caring volunteers who give their time, abilities, love and homes to help place Shelties where they will be well cared for and loved. We formed SSRI to combat the overpopulation of Shelties - ADOPT, don't shop! - with our primary goal being to protect Shelties that are already here while preventing further over-breeding. We are happy to help educate Sheltie owners whenever we can and we strive tirelessly to place all homeless Shelties into the best possible permanent loving homes. If you know of a Sheltie in need, or if you are a senior citizen that needs help caring for a Sheltie, please contact one of SSRI's Rescue Coordinators for possible assistance. |
